What People's Say About Place

Could be some improvement on the service process. My server was nice, but also very slow to bring my check, even after asking me several times if I was ok while seeing my empty plate. Other than that, the food was delicious. Fajitas were juicy and tender with excellent flavor. Enchiladas were very cheesy and nice flavor to the gravy. Chips were perfect, served with salsa that just the right amount of spicy.

Don Pepe’s has some classic valley Mexican food that. On this visit I ordered the botana for one and it was massive, I was only able to eat half but it was surely delicious. The price was middle range I would say, appropriate. The atmosphere inside is an upper scale hacienda style with Puebla vibe. It was mixed the service was nice and fast. Outside the restaurant there is a little water feature (I’m not sure if it’s part of Don Pepe but you can still walk over). The water feature is gated and has geese who were so angry we were there but they were still cute in all their anger. There was duck just squawking around. Overall it was a nice experience with tasty food.

We have dined at Don Pepe on several occasions while visiting family in the RGV. The menu filled with so many delicious options and the great service provided by their entire staff is why they remain the guaranteed place to eat at at least once each time we visit!

Very nice place to have a lunch with friends and have good conversations. Service was really good, and very good food options. I wouldn’t say is authentic Mexican tho, but very good.

Si quieres ir a lo seguro Pepes Cantina is the place! Great food, never a hit or miss. This place’s quality is consistent & superb! The Dinosaur Rib is a #Zazz! Breakfast always on point too! Great food, service and atmosphere. Recommended %

Place was great! Awesome service, food was great and the atmosphere was really cool. It was like your eating inside but looked like you are outside. I got the special for the day the Mexican plate. It was enchiladas, chalupa, beans, rice and a taco. All very good. My friend got the fajitas and they looked really good.

The ambience is very nice. This is a little more of an upscale restaurant. It’s clean and pretty inside and on outside they have a cute pond with ducks and duck food you can buy to feed them. The Service was great. The food was just ok. He ordered fajitas and it didn’t come with any garnish. I ordered the tortilla soup and wasn’t really impressed. When I finally got to the table the tortillas in the soup were already pretty soggy like it had been sitting for a bit . It’s a nice place though, the food wasn’t great but it wasn’t terrible. We would go back again.

The waitstaff feel like family. The cook feels like my aunt’s food, which is nothing short of sensational. Julio was our waiter this time, but we have had the pleasure of being served by many different, yet all super welcoming, servers. It sure is something to be the best Mexican restaurant in our area, because there is Mexican food on every corner. Yep, we drive by many on the way from our Edinburg home, but the drive serves as a nice family time on our way to our favorite spot to eat. Recommend you tuck your napkin! Yum
